			<description>&#60;p&#62;We recently updated the Neve Genesys to Version 3.3 Build 2. This could be coincidental but, there is now a strange sound coming from the back of the console near the computer cassette. The best way to describe it is that it sounds like a slightly leaky toilet. By that I mean, when the toilet has a a small leak inside the tank can never quite fill up and is constantly running. Not a huge leak, but a small one.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;The sound is quite audible. You can hear it easily in the control room. It's been going for about a week now and is driving me mad.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Is the computer card about to die? Is there some strange bug in the upgrade making the fans go strange?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Any help would be much appreciated.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Thanks&#60;/p&#62;

			<title>postpro on "Neve Genesys FireWire Option: Anyone tried it? Audio Quality?"</title>

			<description>&#60;p&#62;Anyone actually tried the FireWire audio option? How is the sound quality compared to the analog outputs?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Like a lot of Pro Tools HD users I'm trying to weigh my options with an alternative but as a temporary solution I could at least replace my soon-to-be no longer supported 192 I/Os IF the Neve FireWire audio sounds good enough AND it can actually communicate with Pro Tools.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Anyone tried it?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Thanks&#60;/p&#62;

			<description>&#60;p&#62;I have recently de-commissioned my Libra Live and have several parts available if anybody is interested.  The parts are all from the Control Surface.  Master section, 8 fader packs(48 Faders), EQ-Compressor-Aux section and so on.  Good for spares etc.  Console was manufactured in 2002.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I also have a MIOS Rack stuffed with 4 Channel Pre-Amps and the 8-channel surround speaker driver. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;If anyone wants the meter bridge let me know immediately before it gets gone...

			<description>&#60;p&#62;If anyone has any advice on using the EQ to Sidechain/De-esser function, that would be greatly appreciated.  There is very little info on settings for obtaining usable results.  When reading reveiws, one reviewer stated to use both Hi and Low shelves, and crank the gain, while using fast attack and fast release settings...  when following these directions, I either get major pumping, artifacts or it is simple ineffective.  If anyone has any tips or insight... Or if you guys would like to share any other tricks and tips, that would be cool.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;It's unfortunate there is such a lack of information on this piece of equipment, are there any other English speaking user forums on the 8801?&#60;/p&#62;

			<description>&#60;p&#62;Hi all, my first time here and I'm thrilled to say I own a Neve console!&#60;br /&#62;
 I have a 48 fader frame Libra Music with a few issues that are preventing me from finalizing the install and any advice would be greatly appreciated.&#60;br /&#62;
 It came with seven SSP cards with an eighth that needs a little TLC, I think the upgrade mod is loose. It also came with an IOS rack with only four channels of 24 bit analog I/O.  That didn't seem to matter because I have a Capricorn AD/DA rack which now needs a new PSU,,,CRAP.&#60;br /&#62;
 To complete it I added a meter bridge and two mic pre rack's and this is where my questions begin. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;1. The meter bridge does not work and I was (later) told that I needed to have the ESP equipped rack instead of the SSP equipped rack. That seems odd because I thought the meter bridge option was there from day one with the SSP's.&#60;br /&#62;
 As a side note since connecting the meter bridge the fader strips meters have stopped, could this all be some setup mistake on my part?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;2. My thinking was that I would connect the Mic pre racks to the Capricorn AD/DA rack and control them from the console as usual. Is it possible to have the console associate the pre's to another AD outside the IOS?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;3. I also seem to remember reading in SOS that Neve had released a mic pre rack that looked just like mine and it could be controlled with a laptop and used minus the SPS, IOS, or MIOS racks. Are these the same racks as mine being controlled through a USB to RS-232 adaptor?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62; Thanks for any help you can offer and God bless.

			<title>postpro on "Eucon Support for Genesys &#38; Vista (Really?)"</title>

			<description>&#60;p&#62;I was truly hoping Neve would integrate the EuCon protocol for the Neve Genesys as it has been quite stable across the board with our MC Pro controlling everything from ProTools HD to Final Cut HD and pretty much everything else we have thrown at it. Not sure how it's al going to work now that Avid owns them, but I can still wishfully hope.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;My next question... What was up with the choice of Vista on the Genesys? I think we finally received our Genesys in February and I believe Vista had long since been properly buried. Is there an upgrade path away from Vista or is it truly a non-issue and I will never have to worry about the implications of using the Vista OS.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I have just discovered this site so sorry if these questions seem dated...
